In this instalment, we sat down with Pokitpal’s CEO, Gary Cobain, and here’s what he had to say.

 

Partnerize: Share a little about your company.

Gary Cobain: At Pokitpal we provide customer engagement programs for numerous Financial Services clients with a total customer base of 9 million consumers. We have become a major player in the Card Linked Offers market in Australia, thanks to our partnerships with Visa, Mastercard, and Australian Payments+.  Brands such as NRMA, Suncorp, Beem, and Employment Hero utilise our platform to provide cashback rewards to over 9 million active consumers from more than 1,000 e-commerce and physical retailers. Our network spans over 5,000 stores in Australia and New Zealand. We also work with advertisers including THE ICONIC, Booking.com, MILKRUN, and Adore Beauty, and we are actively seeking to expand our partnerships. 

 

Partnerize: Please describe a typical day in your office.

Gary Cobain: Life at PokitPal, like any other start-up or scale-up, is fast-paced and challenging. We value our relationships with our publishers and advertisers. That’s why I always try to meet and strategise with most of them so they can make the most out of their customer engagement programs. 

 

While our team is 100% remote, we all make time for regular check-ins to stay connected and aligned with our goals, vision and mission. We also focus on keeping our employees engaged and foster a collaborative and supportive work culture, no matter where they’re located. 

 

Partnerize: What types of programs is your team looking to partner with? 

Gary Cobain: We are constantly searching for quality advertisers sought after by Australians who want to increase their brand’s reach at a cost that is up to 97% cheaper than the industry average. Who doesn’t love saving money? Our technology maximises the effectiveness of every advertising dollar spent. You will only be charged fees once your transactions are completed, and the cost of acquiring a new customer can be as low as $2. 

 

Partnerize: Can you share a success highlight from your partnership with Partnerize that really stands out to you?

Gary Cobain: One successful highlight from our partnership with Partnerize is with THE ICONIC. We saw a huge increase in engagement, especially during seasonal campaigns hosting exciting offers. It was good to see how well their offers resonated with our audience.

Gary Cobain: For us, the API integration has been a game-changer. It’s simplified our reporting and billing processes, making the entire system much more seamless and frictionless— and not just for our team only, but also for the advertisers we work with. It’s made scaling and managing our campaigns a lot more efficient.

It’s not just about the tech, it’s about making sure everyone gets more out of it!

Gary Cobain: We’re focused on personalisation, especially how we can leverage historical banking data to create more tailored experiences for users. We see this as the next big step in delivering even more value to our customers and partners.
